Soap for the do-it-yourselfer Soap is available not only in cosmetic shops and department stores, but also in your own home-potentially, anyway. With a few simple ingredients-ingredients that you may already have at home-you can actually do what many others have done, and are doing, and that is making their own special brand of soap.
To create soap, you basically need to combine three things.
The first of these is fats, lye or some other caustic agent, and water.
Keeping these things in mind, it's possible that you could pick up a few
things at the local supermarket and then make a nice batch of soap right
in your own home. Why would you be interested in making your own soap?
There are many different reasons, actually. Some people make their own
soap because, quite simply, it's fun. If you're looking for a hobby to
keep you busy, then soap making can be just the thing. Others make soap
because they have more control over what actually goes into the soap.
So if you have sensitive skin then you might consider making your own
soap to ensure no problematic chemicals are included. This is particularly
important if you have children who may have allergic reactions to some
chemicals. Making your own soap would be a good way to ensure the soap
your children use is good for their skin.
