Practicing good skin care techniques involves a lot more than just applying some lotion after you shower or soak in the tub. It actually involves a holistic approach that includes exercise, a healthy diet and skin care products.

 

If you're unaccustomed to having a fitness regimen, you can simply start doing a few exercises that feel good to you. For best results, particularly if you're not physically active, is to consult your doctor or a personal trainer who could devise a workout schedule that takes into account your age, fitness level and needs. You'll also want put more emphasis on eating well. Get all of the four major food groups, take your vitamins and drink plenty of water.

 

As for what to actually put on your skin, you'll first want to know what kind of skin you have and what brands would work best for your unique needs. If you have sensitive skin or have allergies, you will have to be more selective in the skin care products you use. You may simply have to use mineral-based skin care products to avoid any negative side effects stemming from chemicals contained in regular brands.
