If you ask a friend what she would like for her birthday, and she says, "Hair products," you'll soon come to realize that hair products covers a lot of ground. Not only are there so many different products on the market, but also there are so many different manufacturers, each claiming to be the best source for your hair product needs.

So, how do you find the right gift for your friend? First of all, you can start out by observing. What does she do with her hair? Is she into hairspray? Is she into clips? Is she into hair bands? Is she into hair extensions? These are just some of the questions you can consider as you silently observe.

If it's a personal friend, you might be able to get a good look around her bathroom to see what hair products are lurking in the medicine cabinet or on her chest of drawers. The key here is not to snoop around, but to search for clues pertaining to what hair products your friend already uses. You'll also want to know which manufacturers your friend prefers to buy from. When it comes to hair products, some people are very loyal to their favorite brands. So knowing which brands-if any-your friend picks up, to the exclusion of all others, is a good thing.
